We had a few players go down to the Camberwell club on Feb 4th. Some pics attached.
Most club members gathered at Michel and Beryl's place on Dec 8th for a Xmas drink.
Great to see the two Daves there from Melbourne.

Rory, Bec and Little Dave played at the Woodend/Hanging Rock tournament in November. They played some pretty stiff competition but managed to win one game. It was only Becs second tournament.
We had two teams at Avoca this year. Jeff and the Daves made it to the semifinals of the Sociale on the Sunday and the other team; John, Clive and Chris, had a few good games on the Saturday.
Two teams went to Halls Gap on 21st October. Jack, Gordon and Jeff won two out of five. Chris, Clive and John won three out of five and got into the Pricipale but had to withdraw as they weren't coming back the next day. Good friendly day all round.
The Tournament was held on Oct 7th. Sixteen teams participated with Dave Walker from Smythesdale teaming up with Glen Bovell and Brian Fitzpatrick from the Grampians Club coming out eventual winners. A good day. Special thanks to PRD Real estate and Michael Unwin wines for their sponsorship.

It was pretty windy but e had a good day at the Open day and attracted a few new interested parties.
Outdoor Furniture project.
A lot of work has gone into building the tables and benches for the Piste area. There are pictures at the Club’s website. www.smythesdalepetanqueclub.net/news (scroll down a couple of stories We will install them next week.
Everyone based locally has contributed to the 100 hours of in kind work we needed to do as our contribution to the Grant. But special mention to El Presidente, John Sexton, who has done all the metal fabrication - a massive job. 450 welds or thereabouts. Check out the photos at the website. More will be published when we do the instal.
Intra Club Open Day
As mentioned last month, we are having a casual day for club members, their family and friends and anyone else interested to come along and have a go. Its Sunday 24th September. Flyer attached (also published at the website). Can you indicate if you are able to come? Hit Reply all and tell us whether you can. Should be good day.
This is scheduled for Saturday Oct 7th. A Flyer for this is also attached (and on the website). Again can you let me know ASAP whether you want to play. Hit Reply and let me know. I’ll be publishing the event on mypetanque.com in the next day or two and its likely to book out quickly (24 teams max). If you aren’t a licence player we can fix that up - so don’t let that hold you back.
Other items of interest
Congrats to Chris Przygoda who participated n the St Kilda Club’s winter competition over a number of Sundays. Chris came in 8th out of about 50 participants. Great work Chris.
We continue to have practice at the Club Piste every Friday from 3 pm. Come along if you are able.
